Multimillionaire entrepreneur squares up for the pie industry

Eat Square (3)

The successful Romany Gypsy entrepreneur Alfie Best has just invested into Eat Square, a local pie company based in Wiltshire. The owner of Wyldecrest Parks, one of the largest park home operators in the UK, valued at around £200 million, has acquired 40% of this food business founded by Alex Joll in October 2014.

About one of his most recent ventures, Alfie Best explains: “I’ve invested once into a business close to my heart – nowadays, Wyldecrest Parks is about to become the biggest park home operator in the UK and we’re already planning an overseas expansion. That’s exactly why I’ve invested into Eat Square”, he says, also adding: “I believe that when you love what you do and when you know what you’re doing, you already have some of the most important keys to succeed in your hands – and Alex does know exactly what he’s doing and he loves it!”

What about the pies? “The pies are really, really amazing”, Alfie Best guarantees. “They have that nostalgic feeling of childhood in each single bite, that rustic and traditional taste!”

Since Alfie’s investment, the company has already employed two new staff members, have bought new equipment and has also invested in its production facility. Now they both intend to grow their output and increase the team even more, by hiring at least 10 new local employees. By the end of this year, their biggest aim is to take production from 500 pies a week to 500 a day.

“I am really excited to be working with Alfie. He has repeatedly built successful businesses in the past and leads from the front with a truly inspiring enthusiasm”, Alex Joll says about his new business partner. “I’m confident that with Alfie involved, Eat Square will grow quickly and become a major and much loved premium pie producer”.

Eat Square founder got his passion (and his recipes!) from his grandmother. From the company’s kitchen at Woolley Grange Farm, just outside Bradford-on-Avon, they source products and ingredients locally for their traditional and tasty fillings and they’re able to make many thousands of pies all by hand. All the varieties can be found locally, in shops, markets and pubs, and a new online ordering service is now in place too.

Wyldecrest Parks celebrates 15 years

15 Years Logo

Wyldecrest Parks hits the 15-year mark this year and the company wants to dominate its business sector until the end of 2016. Valued at around £200 million, Wyldecrest Parks is one of the largest park home operators in the UK with 45 residential and holiday mobile home sites across the country, and it’s owned by the successful entrepreneur Romany Gypsy Alfie Best.

After a fruitful and prosperous 2015, in which the company has registered a remarkable growth by acquiring more than 30% of its actual nationwide portfolio, strongly invested on its parks’ development and registered a sales increase of over 200%, the bar is set high. By the end of the year, Wyldecrest Parks aims to own 53 parks in the country and then become the leader within its sector.

The business is the only one within its industry which is ISO 9001 accredited and it is as well the only park home operator that has nationwide parks across England, Scotland and Wales. In October, Wyldecrest Parks has also won the 2015 LondonlovesExcellence Retail & Property Business Award and its Chairman Alfie Best was shortlisted for the Entrepreneur of the Year category.

“I’m really looking forward to the year ahead! We’ll carry on growing the residential side as usual and we’re also planning to strongly invest and grow even more the leisure sector of our business”, explains the Wyldecrest Parks’ Chairman. But Alfie Best raises the bar even more: “We want to be a fully European business within 3 years and we want to be an international company in 5 years’ time”, he guarantees. Alongside with the business expansion strategy for 2016, Wyldecrest Parks plans to grow to 3 times its current size within the next 15 years.

Wyldecrest Parks started in 2001 when Alfie Best decided to buy his very first mobile home park – Lakeview Residential Park in Essex – investing into something that he feels as a second nature – caravans. In 2016, the “crystal” anniversary will be celebrated throughout the year and across the UK with nationwide promotional campaigns and activities to take place on parks. The company is planning monthly offers and promotions for those who wish to buy a park or holiday home and also for those who want to book their holidays at one of Wyldecrest leisure parks. In February, the company will launch the “15th Extravaganza”, an exclusively online promotion that only lasts for 24 hours on the 15th of each month.

Omar Expand Sales Team

Having delivered 25% compound annual sales growth across the past four years with an outstanding 49% sales growth last year, Omar has further strengthened its sales team.  Peter Berwick, Group Sales and Design Director commented: “Offering an outstanding customer experience is at the forefront of everything we do here at Omar.  In recent years however, having built strong relationships working closely with our trade partners on park, it became clear that we could improve our support for retail customers. Our three group websites attract approaching 30,000 hits per month and we receive between 100 to 150 enquiries through this channel alone each month.  We were not responsive enough to our retail customers, nor were we pro-active enough in qualifying retail leads and matching and referring retail customers to parks.  To this end, in October we were delighted to appoint Mandy Challis as Retail Sales Manager.”

Mandy joins Omar from Bloor Homes and has a wealth of experience in helping members of the general public choose their new home.  Mandy has already added significant value, improving lead conversion rate and delivering virtually complete retail sales to a number of key parks.

Omar Group has also restructured its Area Sales Managers with Nathalie Montague moving across to the Wessex brand as Sales Manager; effective 1st January 2016.  For the Omar brand: Tom Conman retains his responsibility for the North of England and Scotland; Daniel Evans joined Omar in November as Area Sales Manager for the West of England and Wales, and the new look of the team is completed by Laura Sanders who joins Omar in January as Area Sales Manger for the East of England.

Daniel brings with him a vast amount of industry experience joining Omar from Pemberton Group, where in recent years he has built up significant experience of BS3632 products.  Daniel commented: “Having the opportunity to join Omar is a fabulous career break; I have long admired their product and I am already enjoying working with such a professional and well-disciplined team.”

Laura is a Business and Systems Graduate with experience selling B2B into a number of blue chip operations.  Laura commented:  “I’m really excited to join such a successful and dynamic business and look forward to meeting many of Omar’s customers at the forthcoming Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show at the NEC.”

Omar’s office based sales team has also been strengthened by the addition of a Sales Administrator and the recruitment of an additional Sales Correspondent is progressing well.  Omar Group Chief Executive, Dean Westmoreland commented: “Outstanding customer service and market leading products are the key to any successful business. We believe we can happily stand our two product ranges against anything in the industry. Under Peter’s leadership we have now assembled a “Best in Class” sales team; we are also further strengthening our customer service team with the addition of another After Sales Engineer and an additional office based Customer Service Administrator. We look forward to another great year for Omar Group in 2016”.

Wyldecrest Parks acquires new retirement site in Cheshire

One of the largest Park Home Operators in the UK has just bought another residential park in Cheshire. Wyldecrest Parks has recently added Bartington Hall to its nationwide portfolio.

The popular retirement park, accommodating 21 exclusively residential homes, is especially designed for retired and semi-retired people over the age of 50 years old and is located in Warrington Road, in the village of Bartington, approximately 5 miles northwest of Northwich, 20 miles south west of Manchester and 27 miles south east of Liverpool.

“I’m really pleased with this new acquisition. This is a gorgeous location in rural Cheshire and I am sure that this site will become an even more popular choice amongst those who wish to spend their retirement age in a tranquil place, surrounded by nature and beautiful landscapes”, says Alfie Best, the company’s Chairman.

Wyldecrest Parks has now 44 residential and holiday mobile home parks spread across England, Scotland and Wales, including another residential site in Cheshire, two in Flintshire and another one in Conwy, Wales. Its Chairman, a successful and multimillionaire Romany Gypsy entrepreneur, started his professional path at the age of just 14 years old, buying and selling cars and vans, and he bought his first mobile home park in Essex in 2001.

Nowadays, the company is valued at around £200 million and it’s the only one within its business sector which is ISO 9001 accredited. In October, Wyldecrest Parks was recognized with the 2015 LondonlovesExcellence Retail & Property Business Award and it is set to become the largest park home operator in the country soon.

Improvements coming to Orchard Park

Meanwhile, the other Wyldecrest residential site in Elton, Cheshire – Orchard Park – is about to receive some developments. Its Park Manager Ann Raywood has been working with the home improvements team at Cheshire West and Chester Council, who has managed to obtain a grant for the insulation of mobile homes within the Borough. Orchard Residential Park is one of the sites chosen to receive those measures to improve carbon emissions, which include wall, floor and where possible loft insulation. In addition, a proportion of the properties will be also offered heat recovery ventilation technology to help deal with problems associated with condensation. The works are scheduled to start on the 11th January 2016.
